"Plan of Study" Redesign
Team Lead (09/2018-03/2019)

Led a team of six volunteer social scientists through the evaluation, research, design, usability testing, and deployment of the re-designed, standardized annual student self-reporting survey ("Plan of Study") for the Department of Anthropology at the University of Colorado Boulder. Oversaw team and individual deliverables, communicated with department decision-makers and administration, and ensured the timeline and budget were met.

Mixed Race Identity & Fluidity in the United States
Ph.D. Researcher (08/2017-12/2021)

Designed and conducted a 15-month ethnographic field (and virtual) research project on the racial identity and ideas of fluidity among mixed race Louisiana Creoles in the United States. Methods included over 100 structured and semi-structured group and individual interviews, qualitative coding, archival and genetic genealogical research, and focus groups to test theories. Project outcomes included suggestions on inclusive language for educators teaching race and ethnicity, expanded theorization on mixed race identity in the United States, and suggestions on future topical research, specifically researchers looking at quantitative and geographic focuses.

SIMA Large Collections Research Process
Researcher (04/2016-08/2016)

Designed an innovative research method that combined descriptive statistics and historical, archival collections-based museum research at the Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History to streamline the research and exhibition of large (400+) collections of material culture. Worked cross-functionally with curators, museum collections staff, and other anthropologists to test protocols and methods for usability and replicability.

Citizen Science Project
Project Manager (2015-2017)

Worked with a team of scientists, community activists and leaders, educators, and qualitative researchers on a cross-functional project to understand how fracking legislation impacted air, water, gas, and community for the Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara Nation. Conducted interviews, focus groups, qualitative data coding, stakeholder workshops, and concept testing.
